Mobile games have established themselves as a legitimate platform alongside PC games and console games. They may not have the same story depth or graphics tech, but they’re a lot of fun to play and can effectively tell a story with limited resources. They’re also more accessible, as almost everyone has a phone that can play games, but not everyone can afford to buy the right gaming laptop.

The Top 3 Mobile Games of 2022 So Far

As the market for these games grows, so does the competition. It’s incredibly difficult to make it to the top, and it’s even harder to stay there. With so many games to choose from, it can be hard to know what to spend your time and money on. This is why we’ve decided to share our top 3 mobile games of 2022 so far to help you decide what to play next.

M.Duck

Ducks and geese are becoming increasingly popular in gaming and meme culture ever since the release of the cult hit “Untitled Goose Game.” M.Duck looks to take advantage of this recent trend by making the main character a duck on a mission to investigate a mysterious tower that has been keeping him awake by shining a bright light on his pond. The duck has to blast his way through a variety of single-screen levels, killing any opponent that stands in his way. The USP of this game is that its control system is part of the challenge — you have to move to avoid enemy fire, but you aim with the same movement system, meaning that you can’t aim and dodge simultaneously. This, coupled with the slow reload times, makes for an exciting challenge that requires constant vigilance. If you’re a fan of avian adventures and challenging gameplay, this is the game for you.

Townscaper

Our next choice is one that we recognize will either inspire love or hatred when you try it, but we were completely hooked from the start. Townscaper is a take on city management simulators such as Sim City but boiled down to its most basic concept. You start with an empty sea of water before one tap creates a little island. Another tap puts a house on that island. Keep tapping, and your tiny house on your small island will grow into massive structures! This may not sound like a particularly stimulating game but trust us, once you get into it, it’s hard to put down. There’s a lot more to it than simply tapping on the screen and watching things appear. There are a bunch of options available to you, such as toggling the landscape grid, changing the sun’s position, and many more that all affect what gets generated in your universe. The game is tight-lipped when it comes to sharing how or why each variable change results in different structures being built, as part of the fun is trying to figure out the game’s algorithm. This is more of a game for killing time than for winning, but if you have a mind for games like this, you’re sure to be drawn into it, just like we were.

Forget-Me-Not

Forget-Me-Not is a Pacman-inspired rogue-like where the player navigates algorithmically generated mazes, eating flowers (pellets), grabbing the key, and heading for the exit. While it sounds simple, the developers have made the world come alive with the way the enemies interact with the world; you really feel like a small part of a much larger world. Forget-Me-Not isn’t the only thing to be inspired by Pacman, the smash hit of the 80s has inspired countless other pieces of media, including tv shows, merchandise, and even online casino games. There have been plenty of slots inspired by Pacman with fantastic animation and sound design. For the more traditional casino players, there are also classic games such as blackjack, baccarat, and roulette. There are even live dealer casinos, where you can play human-dealt games from the comfort of your own home. The best online casinos offer generous welcome bonuses to their new customers to give them even more chances to win. Whatever game you’re looking to play, you can find a site that’s right for you.

There have been many great releases in 2022 that we could have easily made a top 10 or a top 20! We feel that there will be plenty more excellent releases to come this year, so keep reading to ensure you get the first look at the next big mobile game.
